LGBTQ+ Lorain County is pleased to present our annual Lorain County Pride event on Saturday, June 29 from 12-4pm.
PLEASE NOTE: Due to pending weather conditions, the venue for this year’s event has been changed to an indoor location. It will now take place at Hales Gymnasium on Oberlin College’s campus, just a block west of the originally planned location of Tappan Square.
**NOTE: Unfortunately, Hales Gymnasium is not ADA accessible as there are stairs required to enter the vendor space. However, the drag performances will take place inside The Cat in the Cream on the lower level of the building. This area is ADA accessible, so anyone who would like to come and enjoy the drag performances is able to do so. There is also an accessible restroom on the performance level. The vendor area is on the second level of the building and will require stairs to access.
We realize this is not ideal, but given the age of the building and the need for a nearby space on campus that can support the number of expected attendees, this venue is the only indoor option available. We appreciate your support and understanding as we work to provide an opportunity for our community to come together and celebrate safely given the pending weather forecast. Our Pride Weekend Drag Show on Friday, June 28 is also in an ADA accessible space and is free and open to all.
Lorain County Pride is a free family-friendly event that is open to all. It will feature drag performances, music by DJ RORO, vendors, food trucks, and plenty of LGBTQ+ comradery!
Drag performers include The Twisted Transitioner, Kaydence Jayne, Alexis Milan, Chelsea Enchantress, Karma Couture, and the inaugural performance of Oliver Pickles.
Join us to visit with vendors, enjoy lunch, dance, watch the performances, and enjoy the afternoon as we come together to celebrate the diversity of our community.
PARKING INFORMATION:
Oberlin College campus parking lots will be open and available to visitors during the event. You may park in any Oberlin College parking lot as long as you are not parked in an individual space that has a reserved sign on it. Please see this map for parking lot locations. Hales Gymnasium is #41 on the map. There is also street parking in the area available on a first come, first served basis.
FOOD TRUCKS:
We will have four food trucks and one additional food vendor on site for the event including You Enjoy My Donuts, Kona Ice, Ono Brew Cafe, Quesa-Broso, and Vampy Vegan. Alcohol will not be permitted or sold during the event. Attendees are free to bring their own non-alcoholic beverages, snacks, or other food/beverage items to enjoy during the event.
